Marketing and women haven’t always been best of pals. In fact, marketing for women has often been…well, quite shit really. Turn a razor pink and boom! It’s for women! Sell period products to the girls, but heaven forfend the blood be…red.
But it’s true that there are many brands out there who are absolutely nailing talking to women. Brands using phrases like “vag-to-tush” and “steel-wired, super push-up boob prisons”. Brands who have taken the time to actually think about real women and what they really want. Sounds simple, doesn’t it? But somehow folks are still getting it wrong.
This newsletter is here to celebrate the brands that are getting it very right. It’s a monthly missive for business owners, marketers, strategists and anyone with an interest in brands, the way they write and particularly, the way they speak to women.
Every month, we’ll experience a new brand together. We’ll look at their copy, their messaging and their tone of voice and we’ll ask ourselves what works. We’ll celebrate the brands that go beyond empty empowerment and throw a party whenever we find a brand that speaks to women with (whisper it) originality.
You’ll also get some take-home tips so you can apply what we’ve loved to your own business, job or project. It might be tricks to make your web copy work harder, updates for your tone of voice guide or strategies to promote your upcoming course or event.
